Knock Knock!!

After doing some research into Tyre choices/sizing/compounds for a more grippy and aggressive track wheel and Tyre set up for the Wrx. We came across a Clio RS Cup team from Leicester selling scrubbed in/ part worn full Race Slicks we took a trip down and picked up a set of 205/610/17 for the Compomotive MO1781 lightweight track wheels. After a few warm up laps the extra grip over the standard wheel and Tyre combination was evident. The issue now as with all Subaru Ej flat-4 Engines, oil management, starvation under heavy cornering (without proper baffling in the sump the pick up tube will not be submerged in oil and therefore the engine will not be getting lubricated). Lap 4,the inevitable happened good ole “Rod Knock” the hard going combination of extra grip and the long flowing triple right handers of Park, Chris curve and goose-neck leading to the cavitation of the oil in the passenger side head and causing massive heat on the crank due to lack of lubrication and span a rod bearing.
